PIMEX Limber Corporation was founded by Mr. Garretson B. Payne in 2007 to wrestle a market share of the Liberian economy. PLC is a subsidiary of the PIMEX Group, a 100% Liberian owned company that was established in 1998. The Group had humble beginning, importing general merchandise from Europe and Asia and trading them in Liberia. The Group is a member of the Liberia Business Association (LIBA).

Our principal activities include shipping (air & sea) and commodities trading. We served as shipping agents for Nile Dutch Africa Line (NDAL) in 2003. We were incorporated as a group in 2007 for the purpose of establishing subsidiary companies.

Our main activities include logging, sales and exportation of log and timber products.

Main Activities of the Subsidiary Companies

• PIMEX Shipping Agency was purposely organized in 2003 to serve as liner active for Nile Dutch Africa Lines. PSA engages in maritime activities including ship’s agency, stevedoring, customs clearance, trucking, warehousing and related services. We represented the Nile Dutch Shipping (NDS) as shipping agent in Liberia for a year, from October 2003 to October 2004. We provided customs clearance, trucking and casual labour services to the United Nation World Food Programme (UN/WFP) from January to December 2006.



• Global Radio & Telecommunications (GRT) was created to engage in the sales and maintenance of land mobile radios and satellite telecommunications. GRT currently serves as the Authorized Dealer for the Kenwood Land Mobile Radio range of products and services in Liberia.



• PIMEX Lumber Corporation (PLC) was established in 2007 as a subsidiary company of PIMEX Group to engage in logging activities in Liberia. PLC was created as a result of the re-opening of the forest sector by the Government of Liberia. Until 2003, forest resources were used to fuel conflict during the civil war in Liberia, which resulted in the imposition of timber sanctions by the UN. Security Council Resolution 1521 which calls for the Government of Liberia to demonstrate control over forest resources and install mechanisms that will ensure the timber sector revenue is used to the benefit of the Liberian people. In October 2006 the Liberian Government passed a new Forestry Law, opening a New Era for the Liberian forestry sector. Forest resources in Liberia are important to its economy development and amount to 47% of its land. PIMEX Lumber Corporation was pre-qualified on June 20, 2008 to participate in competitive bidding for large Forest Management Contract (up to 400,000 ha. concession). PLC seeks long term ventures with any potential timber buyers or investors to strengthen its managerial and technical capacity. The Group has already secured 3 acres of undeveloped land at the Freeport of Monrovia, and shall be constructing its warehouses and wood processing factory.
